Three months have passed since the massacre that occurred in Little Park, South Jersey. The restoration of the peace that the town once enjoyed is nearly complete. Business is growing every day, and the citizens of Little Park begin settling back into their daily lives. And although she wants to do the same, and despite her desires to be happy again, Laura cannot escape the feeling that something remains.

The mysterious mark left on her skin after being branded as a means of torture has not faded - nor has the fear that it would one day cause her demise. When gruesome murders and abductions begin taking place in connection to other people who have the mark, Laura's fears become a dark reality. In addition to the ever present physical threat, Laura is given little rest by demons and otherworldly visions from her worst nightmares. She soon realizes that no hiding place or weapon can protect against what has embedded itself in her own heart.
